Roadwork: Arden Valley Road Bridge
December 27, 2015
The western end of Arden Valley Road is currently closed due to repairs to the bridge over the NY State Thruway. The bridge was flagged by DOT for emergency repairs, which should take a few weeks.



Until the repairs are complete, there is no access to the Elk Pen parking area and the western parts of Harriman Park near Arden Valley Road are only accessible on foot.

State Launches Fall Tourism Promotion Targeting Catskills
November 2, 2015
Governor Cuomo announced a series of actions to promote tourism in the Catskill Mountain region, including holding the first annual Catskill Challenge in summer 2016. Governor Cuomo also unveiled a$7.3 million plan to modernize the gateway to Minnewaska State Park Preserve and better accommodate the growing number of visitors to the stunning Shawangunk destination.

New Boating Regulations

Attention all boaters: For the 2015 boating season, Harriman State Park and Rockland State Park will initiating a pilot program for purchasing boat permits. It will no longer be a requirement to bring boats, life preservers, and sounding devices to the Tiorati, Beaver Pond, and Rockland Lake boat permit stations in order to receive the PIPC permits and keys.
